Eight Things We Love About Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort

Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort has long been on my list of must-dos. Designed after turn-of-the-century National Park lodges, this Deluxe Resort is in the Magic Kingdom Park area. With breathtaking decor and unique landscaping, this resort will truly give you the feeling of being in the most beautiful log cabin you've ever seen with all of the amenities of a five-star resort. While there are many things to love about this resort, here are the eight that I love the most.

1. Whispering Canyon Cafe. Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort® is home to one of the most popular table service restaurants in all of Walt Disney World®. The Whispering Canyon Cafe is a Western-themed restaurant where the food is served with attitude. Cast Members in this restaurant are known for dishing out more than just food. Kids will enjoy playing with Lincoln logs, participating in sing-a-longs, and racing hobby horses. Adults will enjoy the drink menu with Moonshine Lemonade and a variety of wine and beer. Enjoy the famous all-you-care-to-enjoy family skillets or order from a wide range of appetizers, entrees, and desserts for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Advanced Dining Reservations are highly recommended, which your MousePros agent can help you arrange at the 180 day mark. Oh, and be sure to ask your waiter for more ketchup!

2. Signature Dining. In addition to Whispering Canyon Cafe, guests can enjoy a signature dining experience at Artist Point. Featuring Pacific Northwest cuisine and an award-winning wine list, this restaurant features both indoor and outdoor dining options with views of Bay Lake or Copper Creek Falls. Kids are welcome at Artist Point, but all guests are expected to adhere to the dress code, which includes khakis, slacks, jeans, dress shorts, and collared shirts for men, and Capri pants, skirts, dresses, jeans, or jean shorts for women. Your MousePros agent can help you make an Advanced Dining Reservation for Artist Point and can help explain the dress code in more detail.

3. Copper Creek Springs Pool. This heated pool features a 67-foot waterslide built into the rocks that surround the pool area. You can also choose to relax in either hot or cold whirlpool spas. Kids will enjoy the new activity play area, while parents can grab a bite to eat or a cold adult beverage at the nearby quick service Geyser Point Bar & Grill. I am already trying to decide between Huckleberry Punch or Black Cherry Lemonade.

4. Electrical Water Pageant. Starting at 9 pm, guests at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort® have a prime viewing spot for the Electrical Water Pageant on Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. Small barges are outfitted with lights in the shapes of magical sea creatures and American flags and set to electronic patriotic music.

5. The Geyser. A nod to Yellowstone National Park's famous Old Faithful geyser, Disney's Wilderness Lodge's Fire Rock Geyser is a unique addition to the resort's theme. You can catch the 120-foot geyser in action every hour on the hour from 7 am until 10 pm. If you'd like to view the geyser from the comfort of your own room, ask your MousePros agent to book you a room with a courtyard view. Please know, though, that there are plenty of courtyard view rooms that have a beautiful view that does not include the geyser.

6. Amazing Recreation Options. In addition to Copper Creek Springs Pool, Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort® offers numerous recreation options that are sure to make the whole family happy. Get your daily run in on the resort's jogging trails. Rent a bike or a motorized boat and explore Bay Lake. If you happen to run into some rain or need a break from the heat, there's plenty of fun to be had in Buttons and Bells Arcade. You can even catch a movie under the stars on the lawn between the marina and Geyser Point Bar & Grill or roast a marshmallow at the campfire. Options like these are why some families schedule a day at the resort during their vacation. There is so much fun to take advantage of!

7. Ease of Transportation. Travel to the parks in style via the complimentary bus service or water taxi. The bus service picks up guests in front of the resort lobby throughout the day and will travel to each of the four parks, the water parks, and Disney Springs. The water taxi has two launches - one will take you directly to Magic Kingdom Park and the other travels to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and then to Disney's Contemporary Resort. The water taxi is one of my favorite transportation options. The trip to the other resorts could also be a fun way to spend part of a day.

8. Copper Creek Villas & Cabins. In addition to the deluxe room accommodations, Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort® is home to Disney's Copper Creek Villas & Cabins®. Technically a part of Disney Vacation Club®, the villas and cabins can potentially be reserved by non-DVC-members, depending on availability. This is Walt Disney World's newest DVC property and the villas and cabins include top-of-the-line finishes and amenities. Guests staying in the villas and cabins have access to all of Disney's Wilderness Lodge amenities, dining, and recreation options. If you'd like to experience a cabin or villa during your next stay, MousePros agent can provide you with a free quote.

This list only scratches the surface of everything that makes this resort a fantastic place to stay during your next trip to Walt Disney World®. Which one of our top eight has you most wanting to go to Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort®? For me, it's Whispering Canyon Cafe and the geyser - I'd love to see that in person.
