Ask the MousePros Agents: What's Your Favorite Way to Spend a Rainy Day

Depending on the time of year that you travel to Walt Disney World or Disneyland, you may need to prepare for a rainy afternoon or day during your visit. Two years in a row, my family has traveled in April and had our Animal Kingdom day cut short both years because of rain. That is not a fun park to be in when it rains. Most of the rides shut down and everyone makes a beeline for Finding Nemo The Musical and DINOSAUR. While I wouldn't recommend visiting Animal Kingdom on a rainy day, there are many fun ways to spend a rainy day in Walt Disney World. I asked the MousePros agents for some recommendations. Here's what they told me are their favorite ways to spend a rainy day:

Autumn Algarin - We throw on ponchos and continue on! We invite the rain normally (as long as there’s no lightning), because the crowds clear out significantly! Or if it's summer, we continue on without ponchos!

Brandi Griggs - A rainy day is a great time to visit Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon, Walt Disney World's water parks! The rain often passes quickly and this is a great time to take advantage of these world-class water parks!

Pete Gawlinski - We pack the ponchos, then pick some of the attractions that are longer and indoors. Our favorites are Mickey’s Philharmagic, it's a small world, and The Carousel of Progress. If we are away from the parks, we take advantage of a nap to recharge our batteries. Another suggestion is to catch a movie or bowling at Splitsville in Disney Spring.

Jenna Augustine - We visit the parks regardless of weather. There are so many great indoor attractions to still take advantage of. A movie or shopping at Disney Springs is our back up option.

Emily Milligan - Rain never slows us down! We love that the crowds part and the line queues are short! During the summer heat, the afternoon rain shower makes the rest of the day cooler. We also love visiting the water parks in the rain. If you’re getting wet anyway, you barely notice the rain!

Andrea Fraley - Hit the parks! Don't forget the rain cover for your stroller. Some of our favorite times in the parks are in the rain.

If it rains during our next trip, I am going to try resort hopping on the monorail and stopping at Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for treats and entertainment.
