Seven Epic Things About Star Wars Day at Sea

If you've been dreaming of a Disney Cruise Line® vacation and will be traveling with young padawans, Jedi masters, or dare I say it, a Knight of Ren, you should consider an itinerary that includes a Star Wars Day at Sea! Star Wars Day at Sea is a full-day of Force-filled fun aboard the Disney Fantasy during select 7-night Caribbean cruises. There is already plenty to love about a Disney cruise, and a Star Wars Day at Sea simply adds to magic and adventure. Here are 7 epic things to look forward to during this special sailing.

1. Character Encounters

Imagine rounding a corner and coming face-to-face with a Stormtrooper, or finding a Jawa sitting next to you at the pool. During Star Wars Day at Sea, characters can be found just about anywhere, whether you planned to meet them or not. Some characters, including Chewbacca, C-3PO, R2D2, and Darth Vader can be found during scheduled photo sessions that require a reservation. Your MousePros agent can help you schedule character greetings once your cruise is paid in full.

Others, such as the Jawas, Boba Fett, Stormtroopers, and Ezra and Sabine from Star Wars Rebels will be roaming the ship, so stay sharp because you never know when you'll need to whip out your lightsaber to fend off a bounty hunter!

2. Special Children's and Family Activities

If your youngling has dreams of flying an X-Wing Fighter, head to Disney's Oceaneer Club aboard the ship. There they will have a chance to meet everyone's favorite ball-shaped droid, BB-8, and his pilot as they recruit little rebels to join the resistance. Young padawans will also have a chance to show off their Jedi skills as they work together to solve a puzzle game to defeat the First Order. Do you think anyone would notice if I stayed for this? I love BB-8!

Reminder: children must be registered to enjoy time in the Oceaneer Club or Oceaneer Lab, even for these special Star Wars adventures. You can complete the registration either at the terminal or once onboard the ship. Or you can pre-register online. Your MousePros agent can also help you with online pre-registration.

As you explore the ship looking for the First Order, you may notice that Porgs have taken over the ship! Help Chewbacca locate the porgs by participating in the Porgs Onboard! Scavenger Hunt. Have a newbie with you? Get them up-to-speed by going to the interactive Star Wars 101 session. Or if you're a family of Star Wars experts, join in the family trivia game and put your knowledge to the test.

3. Learn to Become a Jedi

Much like the Jedi training show that you can find at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, the Disney Fantasy's Star Wars Day at Sea includes Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple. If your padawan wants to participate in this show, you'll need to register him or her ahead of time. Your MousePros agent can help you schedule Jedi Training once your cruise is paid in full.

4. Special Entertainment

Join the Rebel Alliance during the evening Star Wars-themed deck party. Watch as Rey and other characters Summon the Force during this spectacular show, and then watch as fireworks set to the Star Wars movie score light up the sky.

Take a break from the action on deck and head to the Buena Vista Theater and join the Star Wars movie marathon. Relive all of the action for all nine movies in the Star Wars universe.

5. A Chance to Dress Like a Jedi (Or a Wookiee)

All guests are invited to dress like their favorite Star Wars character and meet other fans for the ultimate cosplay party in the ship's Atrium. For an extra special experience, book a trip to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for you or your young padawan and be transformed into a Rebel Alliance pilot, a Jedi princess, or a Star Wars villain. Your MousePros agent can help you schedule a reservation at the Boutique once your cruise is paid in full.

6. Special Guest Speakers

See Star Wars in a new light as special guest speakers participate in panel discussions about what it was like to make Star Wars come to life on the big and small screen. This year's special guest speakers include actor Warwick Davis, voice actor Ashley Eckstein, and various authors, Lucasfilm execs, and Disney Imagineers.

7. Unique Food, Beverages, and Merchandise

You can dress like a Jedi, train like a Jedi, and when you're onboard the Disney Fantasy during Star Wars Day at Sea, you can eat, drink, and shop like a Jedi. Special Star Wars themed menu items are available throughout the day and shops will feature special Star Wars Day merchandise that is exclusive to the Disney Fantasy 2018 Star Wars Day at Sea sailings.
