Deciding if Park Hoppers are Right for You

On our most recent trip to Walt Disney World®, we hit a new first for our family - we visited three parks in one day! How did we make this happen? Park Hopper tickets!

Park Hoppers are an optional upgrade to your Magic Your Way theme park admission ticket. A regular theme park admission ticket grants you access to one park per day. The Park Hopper upgrade option gives you access to Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot®, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom for each day that you purchase the Park Hopper option. With Park Hoppers, you can visit 1, 2, 3, or even all 4 parks in a single day.

There is an additional cost per ticket to upgrade to Park Hoppers, but the added flexibility could well be worth it to your family. Some things to consider about your vacation as you decide whether or not this upgrade will work for you:

Do you plan to take advantage of Extra Magic Hours to get into the parks early or stay late? The extra time could make it possible to visit multiple parks in one day.

Do you have or are you planning to make Advanced Dining Reservations inside one of the four parks? Having Park Hoppers eliminates the worry about structuring your days around where you made your ADRs. You could be in Magic Kingdom Park all day and then use your Park Hoppers to make your dinner reservation in Epcot®.

Are you visiting at a busy time of year? Having the flexibility of Park Hoppers gives you the opportunity to change your plans on the fly if the park you're in gets too crowded.

Are you staying at an Epcot® area deluxe resort? Disney's BoardWalk Inn, Disney's Beach & Yacht Club, and Disney's Swan & Dolphin resorts are all within walking distance to Epcot®'s World Showcase. The Park Hopper ticket gives you the opportunity to duck into World Showcase as you please, whether it is to enjoy a quick snack from France or a cold beverage from the United Kingdom. This is one of the primary reasons my family chooses Park Hopper tickets.

There are a couple of other important things to know about Park Hoppers:

Park Hoppers do not give you access to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Disney's Blizzard Beach water parks. If you plan to visit the water parks, you should consider upgrading to the Park Hopper Plus ticket option, which then gives you access to the water parks.

If you are planning to drive to the parks and you have Park Hopper tickets, you will pay for parking only once (parking is free for Disney® resort guests). You can drive from park to park, or you can park your vehicle at the first theme park and then utilize the complimentary theme park transportation options to travel to the other theme parks.

Disneyland® offers Park Hopper ticket upgrades as well! If you purchase the Park Hopper option, you'll get access to both Disneyland Park and Disney's California Adventure in a single day.
