A popular transportation option is finally returning to the Most Magical Place on Earth! Disney announced that their Minnie Vans Connected by Lyft service will make it's triumphant return on June 29th after being out of service for over two years!
If you are not familiar with the Minnie Van service, it's a partnership that Disney started with Lyft back in 2017. As ride sharing gained in popularity Disney launched the service to provide its guests with a direct mode of transportation around the Walt Disney World property and eventually added transfers to and from Orlando International Airport and Port Canaveral to service Disney Cruise Line guests. When it reopens, the service will only provide service between the Walt Disney World Resorts, Disney Springs, and the Theme Parks. Airport and cruise transfers will not be available. Pricing fluctuates based on demand and prior to the pause of the service rides would typically fall between $30-40. We do not know yet what the pricing will look like once the service resumes.
The entire fleet is owned and maintained by Disney and all of the drivers are Disney Cast Members, not independent Lyft Drivers.
While on Walt Disney World property the Minnie Van service can be selected on the Lyft App and accessible vans can be requested as well. The adorable red and black polka-dotted vans can accommodate up to six guests and each vehicle has two car seats. The amazing Cast Members who drive the vehicles take extensive training on installing the car seats. Anytime a new model car seat is added to the fleet the Cast Members must receive training before they can utilize the seats.
