Why We Love Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!

Halloween is one of our favorite time of the year and of course we LOVE Halloween at the Walt Disney World Resort! The centerpiece of the spooky season is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disney's Magic Kingdom Theme Park. This is a special event and requires separate special admission (Regular park admission does not get you into the party). Tickets are not on sale yet, but in 2016 prices ranged from $72-$105 for ages 10 and up and $67-$100 for ages 3-9. Guests under the age of 3 are considered guests of Mickey and are free!

Celebrations are never just a one day event at Walt Disney World and the Halloween/Fall season is no exception. The celebration was even extended to 32 dates this year and for the first time Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party will have a date in August and November! Again, as we write this tickets are not available, but we do have the party dates:

  • August 25, 29

  • September 1, 7, 10, 12, 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 29

  • October 1, 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 22, 24, 26, 27, 29, 31

  • November 1

It's called "Not So Scary" for a reason and in keeping with the Disney tradition of family friendly entertainment it's safe for children of all ages. It's a celebration of all things fun with absolutely no terrifying costumes, creepy music, or spooky effects. The party features entertainment and character experiences that are only available for this special event. Let's take a quick look at some of our favorites.

Mickey's Boo To You Parade

The Magic Kingdom always has great parades right? Well, Mickey's Boo To You Parade takes it to a whole another level! This special parade is exclusive to the party and features some rare characters and is kicked off by the infamous Headless Horseman!

Happy HalloWishes

Just like the parade, HalloWishes is a fireworks spectacular like no other. The Haunted Mansion's Ghost Host leads the festivities and this amazing pyrotechnic display features some of Disney's best ghoulish tunes such as Grim Grinning Ghosts and Oogie Boogie's Song from the Nightmare before Christmas. It even features two tracks from the early days of Walt Disney Studios with Whose Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf and The Skeleton Dance.

Hocus Pocus Villain Spectactular

The Sanderson Sister's from Disney's Hocus Pocus and your favorite Disney villains are up to no good in this castle show that's exclusive to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! Our favorite part of the show is seeing Dr. Facilier and Oogie Boogie!

The Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet

Some of the best things about the Disney Parks is the entertainment that you just happen to run into. These ghostly singers serenade the living in Frontierland during the party and we consider this one of our Must Dos!

Special Character Meet and Greets

Each year Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party features some amazing character meet and greets! Characters like Jack Skellington and Sally, Lots-O-Huggin Bear, the Seven Dwarfs, and Cruella De Vil are rarely except for party nights.

Trick or Treating!

You can't have a Halloween Party without Trick or Treating and we can't think of a better place to load up on candy than the Magic Kingdom. Trick or treat stations are located throughout the park and treat bags are provided.
